Educational aims
Managing human resources effectively in organizations in a rapidly changing business environment is crucial if one is to remain competitive. The purpose of the course is to equip students with the necessary knowledge, skills and abilities to manage human resources effectively in organizations.
This course provides an overview of basic human resource management functions: recruitment, total rewards, compensation and benefits, training and development, and organizational behavior.
Finding the right employees to fit an organization's needs is a challenging task. This course examines concepts essential for effective staff recruitment, selection, and retention. Students also examine the diverse ways organizations view employees, and what organizational practices are effective to retain quality staff.
This course examines how human resource managers promote the company's goals through Human Resource Development (HRD). Students examine strategies for assessing, designing, and implementing training and development programs that positively impact an organization's overall performance.

Teaching methods
Different teaching tools will be used:
a) traditional lessons in class;
b) case studies, where the theories are presented in real business situations;
c) guest speakers.
The course is interactive and may involve carrying out simulations, guest speakers, real case studies discussions and group assignments.
Class attendance
Class attendance is recommended but is not mandatory.
Examination
Final written exam both for attending and non-attending students.
