Educational aims
The course is about the institutional foundations of Italian private law, taking into account the interventions of the European Union Law maker in the national legal system; the aim of the course is to provide students with adequate preparation in the basic legal private-sector and the conceptual tools necessary to interpret the law.
Content of the course
After a general introduction to civil law systems, the attention will be focused on the Italian legal system.
In particular, the analysis from both a legal and an economic perspective will concern Italian rules relating to:
- ownership and rights in property;
- the law of obligations;
- the law of contract;
- Consumer protection law;
- Warranties;
- Torts.

Attendance
The attendance is optional.
Teaching methods
Lectures, analysis of case law and exercises of cases.

Examination
The examination shall be in writing and consists of five open-ended questions and a practical brief case to solve. The candidate who has passed the written word may, if he considers, undergo an oral examination; the score of the oral examination will mean that achieved with the writing
