Educational aims

This course intends to give a view of the most important emerging economies’ rising,  analyzed through an
historical-cultural and socio- economic  prospect.
China and India are already altering the western global economy status, drawing the European and American prevalence in a significant way.
Heterogeneity of development models regarding the above mentioned Asian giants with very different historical ad economic contests will be analyzed. Some representative historical moments of their civilization will be examined thoroughly, understanding the diachronic and synchronic ties and connections they present.
To realize rightly, we state in advance the forms we believe to be more useful to understand the above mentioned cultures and their socio-economic models ( cultural, anthropological, social, economic, interactions and events).
First, we deal with some difficult problems of definition and method through them it will be really possible to understand the same civilizations in their complexity.
All this let the audience to deeply understand the pointed out themes even through the “history” of the same civilizations and their correlation with our present. It is clear, in fact, that the Government, which will be the world economic system’s pin, will impose in the future its own rules and values also to the other governments.
For this reason, it is very important to know the inspiring principles of the two nations which are destined to have a master-key in the future for humanity.

1) The rising of emerging economies:
The new international zone and BRICS economies
The evolution of Asian economies, particularly China and India and their development models  
The multinational Companies of emerging countries

2) A grammar of civilization:
Defining civilization
Defining civilization related to human sciences
The civilization as continuity

3) China in comparison with India
China:
Territory and environment
Chinese civilization: classic China, yesterday and today’s China
Religion: Confucianism and Taoism
Main characteristics of socio-economic Chinese model

4)  India:
Territory and environment
Indian civilization: yesterday and today’s India
Religion: Hinduism and Buddhism
Main characteristics of socio-economic Indian model
